Cypress Shoji

Cypress Shoji is a fictitious 5-star hotel brand that emphasizes the beauty in traditional, quality hospitality. I often feel that no matter the resort or hotel there is a certain style that is consistently associated with it. With Cypress Shoji I wanted to push against that & expand into other cultures.

This is meant to pay homage to the Eastern Asian style, specifically more Japanese design. There is so much beauty in other non-western design & I love exploring the different possibilities.

Collaboration & Thoughts

Huge shout out to Adam Wold who collaborated with me by creating all of the 3D renders of the location. In my original illustrations, I didn’t have a ramp that he included in the renders for accessibility & inclusivity. Truly, a talented designer.

I wanted the location itself to be much more reliant on sunlight so people who are traveling can become attuned to there circadian rhythm more ensuring a pleasant stay.
